Video Recovery App - M Video Recovery

In this post, I want to share with you about an incident that happened a few years ago when I was working at an institution. My cameraman colleague, Güray Ervin, had his camera battery die during filming, and because the camera couldn’t properly finalize the recording, the video file was physically present but unusable. It was a very important interview recording that couldn’t be re-shot, and this incident led me to create the first version of the program I’m sharing with you today.
Recently, another colleague was recording a meeting when their computer shut down, and again, because the video didn’t end properly, it became unviewable and unusable. As I did in the past, I made this file usable again, and I wanted to share this application with you by making it user-friendly for end-users.
How to use the application:
- Click the Reference video button to select a working reference video recorded from the same camera or source. The duration doesn’t matter because we’ll use the flags from this sample video as a reference to fix the corrupted file.
- Click the Broken video button to select your corrupted video.
- Click the Destination Path button to choose where the repaired file will be saved.
- Finally, click the Start Repair button and wait for your file to be fixed.
Video formats the application can recover:
- Sony XAVC
- AVC (mp4, m4v, mov, 3gp)
- HEVC
- GoPro
The application cannot repair XDCAM formats and Mpeg-2 Codecs.
